Skin Conditions - Anihidrosis

I suffered from Anihidrosis. Anhidrosis is the inability to sweat normally. When you don't perspire, your body can't cool itself, which can lead to overheating and sometimes to heatstroke — a potentially fatal condition. I have fainted or sought for First Aid units many times, and almost every summer specially around July 4th. My body will heat up, vision blurred, and I will pass out. Honestly I walked in to the Bikram Yoga studio, without reading enough about hot yoga. I wasn't new to yoga, but heat yes. First day, I still don't know how I survived without passing out :). But don't know why and how, I managed for the next 3 weeks everyday without giving up. I carried a cold wet towel with me, water bottle filled with ice, and a water sprayer!! I had to spray water to cool down the body temp. so that I could stay for the 90 minutes. The instructors initially did not agree to me coming in with the sprayer, but I requested them, and promised to get rid of it soon. Hesitantly they did. After 3 weeks of continuous practice, one day, I realized I hadn't used the sprayer through the class, and something like wet feeling on my hands and back of neck - oh I was sweating little. Slowly my sweating improved everyday, and within a weeks time, I stopped carrying the spray bottle :) Today it is been more than 10 months that I have been practicing Bikram Yoga, and in the room, within 5 minutes, I sweat very nicely. I do sweat outside in the sun, and I'm able to be outside during summer and not faint. some 20+ years back
