I would like to share with you how Bikram Yoga has changed my life. I have been a migraine sufferer since the age of 6. My migraines were so frequent and severe that I would be completely incapacitated for 24-72 hours about once a month. In 34 years, I have seen countless doctors, specialists, and a neurologist and even had a CAT scan to try to get an explanation for my pain. I tried many conventional and alternative methods of medicine never ruling out anyone who claimed they could help me. I willingly tried virtually every type of migraine medication on the market to no success and eventually resigned myself to the fact that migraines have always and will always be a part of my life. Three years ago two good friends who were visiting from Florida introduced me to Bikram Yoga. However, it wasn't until about a year ago, that I decided to really give it a try. I started out going a couple of times a week and gradually increased my practice. Basically, I was hoping to get back into shape after spending the past ten years being a stay-at-home Mom. It wasn't until last fall, well into my “60 days of hot yoga” that I discovered that it had been at least two months since I had my last migraine. It is now September and I am celebrating being migraine free for a full year! I have no explanation other than I have been practicing Bikram Yoga at least 4 days a week and I feeling stronger and better than ever. I am forever indebted to the 26 postures of Bikram Yoga for changing my life and freeing me of migraines. Thank you to all the instructors and fellow students. Kathy Schiefner
