Indian Ambassador Addresses Yoga College of India

Los Angeles, California – Nov. 8th: Dr. Bhishma K. Agnihotri, India’s Ambassador-At-Large for NRI’s & PIO’s (Global), received a rousing standing ovation for his speech by more than three hundred future yoga teachers and invited guests at the world famous Bikram’s Yoga College of India in Los Angeles. Dr. Agnihotri was invited by Bikram Choudhury, the Yogi to the Stars in Hollywood, to address his Fall, 2002 graduating class of yoga teachers. His inspiring speech on the importance of a strong relationship between India and the US bought many cheers from the audience. Among the student-teachers, each paying a $5,000 tuition for an intensive two-month training, was the son of basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabber, Amir Abdul-Jabber.

At a private dinner party afterward held in his honor, Dr. Agnihotri was met by several prominent members of the local Indian community. Among the attendees were Bikram and Rajashree Choudhury; Dr. Raj Kanodia, one of the leading plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills; Dr. Krishna Reddy, president of the Indian American Friendship Council; Rakesh Agarwal, the executive VP of the IAFC; popular Indian composer Bappi Lahari and his family, and others. Dr. Agnihotri was also invited to serve on the Advisory Committee of Yoga Expo 2003 to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in September, 2003.
