once part of the actual “Red Light District” of Ogden,
the original “Junction City,” the nearest metropolitan area to the culmination of the transcontinental railroad completion site. The Studio is located in the loft of a quaint historical building above a popular local coffee shop and a daytime café specializing in American cuisine which offers a high-quality, light healthy menu. The exposed brick walls of the restaurant frequently feature the work of local artists and the large studio windows upstairs offer a scenic view of the beautiful Ben Lomond mountain to the North. I have worked hard in promoting yoga and increasing overall awareness of the benefits of hatha yoga in this area. I have taken every opportunity to expand the local awareness of the benefits of yoga and to reach out to the community of over 200,000 residents in a 15-mile radius. I love the work and watching the growth of the studio. I am, however, ready to pass the torch. A passionate teacher with keen marketing skills will do well here as more and more people open up to the benefits of yoga. The population is young and active, and Ogden is home to Weber State University and world class recreation, including three different ski areas within a 20 minute drive from Ogden, including world-class Snow Basin Resort. Mountain biking, cross-country skiing, watersport recreation, rock climbing, and hiking are just some of the recreational opportunities of this area. Salt Lake City is 40 miles to the south will be directly linked to Ogden by a high-speed commuter rail by April of 2008. There are currently three certified Bikram teachers who live in Ogden (including myself) and we are ready to start adding more classes.
