Digestion/Depression

Bikram Yoga has changed me positively physically, medically and mentally. Thank you Jayme and Mandy of Bikram Foxboro (Bikram Yoga Stoughton) Massachusetts.

I have gone from a fair physique to a very good one. My resting heart rate has plummeted from 72 to 60/minute (my rate as a teenager). It now takes forever to get to cardio-training level on the Lifecycle. My fat ratio is at about an athlete s level with no real loss of weight. Apparently, I have added lean, long muscle mass and have trimmed my waist. My wife says that I now have a perfect body. This is good, because my hips and back no longer get tired when we re in bed.

I have had several medical improvements. I used to have to take Metamucil and slippery elm powder daily in order to stay regular. No longer, due to yoga. Chiropractic problems have cleared up and I have naturally good posture without thinking about keeping a perfect   Alexander Technique.  Skin problems, such as acne and fungus, have eased due to the detox aspect of Bikram.

Finally, my need to go to the psychiatrist has ended. Due to very trying times with my family, I needed to take Effexor. However, my psychiatrist cancelled several appointments in a row and I found myself without medication. Surprisingly, I found that the drugs were not what were making me better. Yoga was. I haven t seen the psychiatrist for a few months and have gone to yoga even more. Perhaps, this is why I m the only one actually smiling during triangle pose. I know that it is making me happier.

Physical, medical and mental improvements have been the great results of Bikram for me, even though I have a long way to go to be really good. Still, I m not giving up. I think that my feet really will get over my head in locust.
