TEACHER TRAINING APPLICATION PROCESS
SPRING 2005

PRE-REQUISITES

To be admitted to Teacher Training you must satisfy (A), (B) and (C):

A:  At least Six (6) months of regular Bikram Yoga practice at an affiliated school; and

B:  You have obtained a letter of recommendation from the studio owner of your affiliated school where you have satisfied (a) above; and

C.  You must be at least 21 years of age.

If due to extraordinary or unique circumstances you are unable to satisfy the above prerequisites, you may submit a written description of your situation for consideration to Shelly Kompel, the Teacher Training Registrar, at Shelly@BikramYoga.com.  All of our affiliated schools are listed on our website.  Please click here to see if your school is affiliated.  Finally, please note that the pre-requisites will likely become more stringent with each succeeding Teacher Training.  Please be aware that misrepresentation regarding the extent of your Bikram Yoga practice can cause you to fail to be certified and also constitutes grounds for dismissal from Teacher Training.
 

PLEASE SEND IN THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO APPLY:
  • Signed Application (Questionnaire)
  • Signed Medical Consent and Waiver
  • Signed Teacher Training Agreement
  • Letter of Recommendation from you BYCOI studio director (who is a Bikram Certified Teacher) that you've practiced with for at least 6 months.
  • Proof of identification with photo ID: Copy of driver's license or passport
  • Two original 2X2 passport style photos (please no copies)
  • Deposit & Student Fees: $3,100 by check or credit card number
  • If you would like to stay in dormitory housing accommodations, please send in $2,100 for advance reservation.  *The Spring 2005 dormitory housing accommodations is limited to available reservations.

INSTRUCTIONS / DOWNLOAD FORMS
1.  ONLINE APPLICATION
Fill out this online application in detail.  Print the application after clicking the submit button.  Send the printed application in with the other items requested. 
 
2.  MEDICAL CONSENT AND WAIVER
Obtain the signature of a licensed physician on the attached Medical Consent and Waiver certifying that you are physically capable of enduring the rigors of Teacher Training.  Please make sure your doctors name and contact information is legible.
 
3.  TEACHER TRAINING AGREEMENT
Please read your teacher training agreement.  You must abide by its terms.  Initial each page after reading and then sign in the space provided.  Make a copy for your records.  Please return the entire agreement with your application.
 
4. SEND IN YOUR COMPLETED MATERIALS
Please send in your completed materials together with your deposit of $3,000 and $100 for student fee.  Make checks payable to Bikram Choudhury.  Do not fax applications.  If paying by credit card, please complete the credit card information on the signature page of the Teacher Training Agreement.

Please note that your application does not ensure that you will be admitted to Teacher Training.  Should you be accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter and welcome packet along with a copy of the Bikram Yoga Class Dialogue.
